SAS A LEADER IN 2017 GARTNER MAGIC QUADRANT FOR DATA SCIENCE PLATFORMS

Position based on completeness of vision and ability to execute

Gartner has recognised SAS as a Leader in its February 2017 Magic Quadrant for Data Science Platforms.

A data science platform, of course, must support data scientists creating sophisticated models for deep insights. But it should also allow business users to explore data visually and interactively. And all users benefit from strong data preparation tools.

“We’re delighted to be recognised by Gartner as a leader in analytics,” said Laurie Miles, Director of Analytics, SAS UK & Ireland. “SAS recognises that businesses are increasingly facing greater challenges while needing to serve a growing and diverse range of users. Our trusted analytics products are designed, built and made to evolve alongside developing customer requirements, whether they operate on-premises or in the cloud. They also work alongside open source solutions.”

The new Gartner report defines a data science platform as “a cohesive software application that offers a mixture of basic building blocks essential for creating all kinds of data science solutions, and for incorporating those solutions into business processes, surrounding infrastructure and products.” The report replaces the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Advanced Analytics Platforms.

Built to enable analytical insights to drive business actions, SAS’ platform supports every phase of the analytics life cycle – from data to discovery to deployment. Management and governance are essential features of this leading platform.
