Leading low-cost airlines of Turkey and Saudi Arabia have signed a codeshare agreement to offer their guests connections on both airlines’ networks. With the new agreement, Pegasus guests can now fly to Riyadh and Jeddah via Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen, while flynas guests travelling from Riyadh and Jeddah can fly to Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Hatay and Trabzon via Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen.

PEGASUS AND FLYNAS SİGN CODESHARE AGREEMENTPegasus and flynas, leading low-cost airlines of Turkey and Saudi Arabia, have signed a codeshare agreement. Following the signing ceremony on 6 October 2016, Pegasus is now offering flights to Riyadh and Jeddah that are operated by flynas. Pegasus guests who want to travel to either of these major cities in Saudi Arabia can do so by booking their flights on flypgs.com/en, flying to these cities with flynas. In turn flynas is providing flights to Trabzon, Ankara, Hatay, Antalya and Adana via Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen for its guests in Riyadh and Jeddah.

Pegasus CEO Mehmet T. Nane said at the signing ceremony: “As Turkey’s leading low-cost airline, with scheduled flights to 102 destinations in 40 countries, we are thrilled to be entering into a partnership with Saudi Arabia’s leading low-cost airline flynas. This partnership will allow flynas guests wishing to visit Turkey via Istanbul to have the chance to experience flying with Pegasus. We will bring together our destinations in Saudi Arabia and Turkey using Istanbul as a hub. Our guests will be able to fly from all over Turkey to Riyadh and Jeddah via Istanbul using just one ticket purchased on our website. Guests will also be able to pick up their luggage at their final destination after checking it in at the start of their journey. During this new period for Pegasus, we will on the one hand continue to grow organically and faster than the average for the sector and on the other expand our network widely into the surrounding regions via such partnerships.”

Pegasus aims to expand into new regions

Mehmet T. Nane also outlined that Pegasus aims to expand into new regions: “We are very keen to fly to all of Saudi Arabia’s major cities, starting with Riyadh and Jeddah. We want to grow our flight network in the Middle East. In this sense our partnership with flynas is of strategic importance as we will be providing better-value flights between Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Our aim is to expand on this agreement signed with flynas and to spread our low-cost flights even further into the Middle East.”

flynas CEO Bander Al Mohanna said: “This successful partnership with Pegasus Airlines has already given thousands of customers the choice to experience and enjoy a wide range of destinations in Turkey. In return, as we approach Umrah season, customers from Turkey are also given the opportunity to fly to Saudi Arabia from multiple points in Turkey.

Both flynas and Pegasus look forward to increasing the number of destinations on both carriers’ network, providing even more options to all passengers traveling between KSA and Turkey.

Flynas also understands the importance of International operations provided by Pegasus Airlines from Sabiha Gokcen airport and as the partnership continues to grow, we will look at including few of those international destinations into the agreement.”

With its mutual codeshare agreement with Pegasus, flynas now also provides scheduled flights after having run charter flights for a long period of time in Saudi Arabia. With this agreement, Pegasus guests can purchase tickets direct via its website www.flypgs.com/en, mobile.flypgs.com and mobile apps. flynas guests can purchase flights to Trabzon, Ankara, Hatay, Antalya and Adana via its website www.flynas.com.
