SIX Payment Services and Banca Monte Paschi Belgio win “Highly Commended” FSTech Award
An independent jury has presented Banca Monte Paschi Belgio (BMPB) and SIX Payment Services (SIX) with the FSTech „Highly Commended” award, in recognition of the PaschiCombo card, the world’s first dual Maestro (debit) and MasterCard (credit) display card with contactless payments functionality and an added one-time password generator for secure e-commerce.
The FSTech awards are an annual event, held by leading financial magazine, FSTech. The judges described the entry of BMPB and SIX as “a ground breaking project that deserved recognition”.
SIX, a leading provider of innovative solutions along the entire value chain of cashless payments, is providing the payments technology behind Banca Monte Paschi Belgio’s leading new card product: the PaschiCombo. This product allows customers to benefit from greater simplicity, more space in their wallet and enhanced security levels compared to regular card products.
Jean-Marc Fandel, Head Financial Industry Services at SIX Payments Services said of the accolade: “The special jury award at the FSTech Gala recognises the need for innovations that bring a real value to the customers. I am very proud of this award and of SIX’s role as BMPB’s technology partner on this exciting product.”
Dino Albanese, member of the Management Committee at Banca Monte Paschi Belgio, adds: “We may be the oldest bank in the world today, but we also want to be the most innovative.”
