Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, is further investing in the south coast, as it plans to open a brand-new store in Southampton later this year, creating around 25 new jobs. Offering business, personal and private banking services, the bank focuses on providing customers with an exceptional banking experience, however, wherever and whenever they choose.

Located in the West Quay Shopping Centre, the seven-day-a-week store will combine face-to-face relationship banking, with state-of-the-art technology, providing customers with a customer-focused and convenient banking experience. Customers will be able to pop in without an appointment and in most cases, open a personal account in a matter of minutes, leaving with a printed debit card, along with internet and mobile banking all set-up.

Business customers too will be able to open an account on-the-spot, as well as benefit from free meeting room use and their own personal Local Business Manager to support them as they grow and develop. In addition, through a recent partnership with the Forum of Private Business, customers will now be able to benefit from free access to the Forum’s wealth of bespoke resources.

Craig Donaldson, CEO at Metro Bank commented: “We’re delighted to be joining such a forward-thinking and innovative city as Southampton, which is already home to some of the UK’s most well-known brands.  Our new city centre store will be more than a place for people to manage their finances, it will also be a real community hub, hosting a range of networking, charity, and family events throughout the year. We can’t wait to welcome Southampton to the banking revolution.”

The new store will be located at Unit 1 & 2, West Quay Shopping  Centre, Above Bar, Southampton SO15 1QD, where it will have over 3,000 safe deposit boxes for customers to store their valuables and free coin counting facilities for children and adults alike. Unlike other bank branches, the store will offer customer toilets, baby changing facilities and treats for the whole family.

All stores are open at the most convenient time for local people, from 8am to 8pm Monday to Fridays, 8am to 6pm on Saturdays and 11am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays, 362 days a year.
