Leading Appellate Litigator Harvey Sepler, an American Academy of Appellate Lawyers Fellow, Joins Miami Office

Former Assistant Public Defender has handled over 1400 appeals; has won appeals in the United States Supreme Court and Florida Supreme Court

Rimon Law has added seasoned appellate attorney Harvey J. Sepler, J.D., Ph.D., to the Litigation Team.  Mr. Sepler has personally handled over 1400 appeals. His practice will be based out of the firm’s Miami office.

Mr. Sepler joins Rimon from the Office of the Public Defender, 11th Judicial Circuit, Florida where he was an Assistant Public Defender in the Appellate Division for over 30 years and has been widely recognized as one of the top appellate lawyers in the country. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers, whose select membership includes United States Supreme Court Justices, Justices and Judges from state and federal appellate courts across the country and other outstanding appellate lawyers.

Among his many victories are unanimous decisions in both the United States Supreme Court and the Florida Supreme Court. He has been recognized as a leading appellate attorney in Florida, receiving the Outstanding Appellate Attorney Award from The Florida Bar and was named to the Florida Super Lawyers (top 5 percent of Florida attorneys) and the Florida Legal Elite (top two percent of attorneys) for his appellate skills.

At Rimon, Mr. Sepler will be joining a strong litigation team of 26 Partners, including Peng ChenLillian Stenfeldt, and Maxim Waldbaum who joined Rimon this year. The Litigation Team works closely with the CorporateIntellectual PropertyPrivate Client, and Tax Teams to assure full spectrum representation and depth of coverage for our clients. With Rimon’s decentralized business model, Mr. Sepler can provide a unique experience to each of his clients by tailoring his services to fit their needs.

“Harvey Sepler is a real lawyers’ lawyer. He has an excellent track record of successful appeals in complex cases. We are proud to have him join our growing litigation team,” said Michael Moradzadeh, Rimon’s CEO.

“Rimon Law is a unique firm.  Unlike any other firms, our structure allows the attorney’s individual skills to meld with a team approach to maximize benefits to our clients.  We’re a firm that clients can rely on for all of their legal needs,” said Mr. Sepler.

Mr. Sepler earned a B.A. from the University of Florida, an M.A. from Western Michigan University, a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, and a J.D. from the University of Miami Law School.  He was also a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Vanderbilt University and interned both for the United States Congress and the National Academy of Sciences.  For the past 22 years, he has been an Adjunct Professor of Law, teaching appellate advocacy and coaching national moot court teams for the University of Miami School of Law.

Rimon has 18 offices across three continents. The firm is widely known as being at the vanguard of legal innovation. The firm has been repeatedly recognized by the Financial Times as one of North America’s most innovative law firms.
