HELP FOR CHILDREN BVI LAUNCHES WITH CHRISTIAN GRIFFITH RUNNING THE TORTOLA TORTURE

Help For Children (HFC) is proud to announce the launch of its latest affiliate – HFC BVI.  Following a series of meetings with leaders of the local investment community, government offices, schools and other BVI organizations that are currently involved in both the prevention and treatment of child abuse, it became very clear that BVI is deepening its commitment to address the issue locally.  There are many projects and strategies that can be funded to expand work in this area – what is needed is the funding and that is where Help For Children comes in.

To celebrate the launch of HFC BVI, the Board of HFC BVI is proud to announce that Christian Griffith will be running the 2017 Tortola Torture on behalf of the children of BVI.  The Tortola Torture is a 54K ultramarathon that circles the Island of Tortola in BVI.  Having run this race previously, Christian is prepared for the hills and the beauty of this race!

Throughout his adult life, Christian Griffith has used physical challenges to help overcome the trauma of abuse that he suffered at the hands of his mother and others.  Christian is dedicated to standing up for abused children throughout the world.  By constantly striving to overcome his fears, he hopes to shine a spotlight on the issue of child abuse throughout the world.   His presence at the Tortola Torture will do just that for the children of BVI!

In their efforts to prevent and treat child abuse, HFC BVI has received support from the following firms:  AMS, Appleby, Deloitte, Folio, Harneys, KPMG, Maples, O’Neal Webster, PwC and Tovel. Both the BVI investment community and the entire HFC organization look forward to working together to protect and heal children in BVI in the years to come.
