Travel money pioneer Centtrip has announced that it is to sponsor Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Brash MBE, who is currently ranked the world’s number one show jumper.  Among his medal haul are two team golds – Olympic and European – and he has also won back-to-back Global Champion Tours in 2013 and 2014.

The Centtrip sponsorship involves the brand supporting Scott across all his appearances at the Global Champions Tour in 2015, which he is currently leading on points.  The remaining shows include:

Valkenswaard, Holland (13th-16th August); Vienna, Austria (17th-20th September); Doha, Qatar (12th-14th November).

In addition to this, Scott will be riding under the team Centtrip branding at the Rolex Grand Slam final in Calgary in September, and if he wins this he will make equestrian sporting history by becoming the first to win all three major shows that make up this prestigious Grand Slam. (The three shows are Aachen, Spruce Meadows in Calgary and Geneva).

Brian Jamieson, Co-CEO of Centtrip, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring Scott.  He is at the top of his sport, and it is an honour to be associated with him.   The equestrian global audience travel frequently and we believe show jumping is a very good fit for our business.”

Scott Brash MBE said: “I travel all the time and I immediately appreciated the benefits of having a Centtrip currency account whilst on the Tour and the unique currency solution it offered me.  I’m delighted to be partnering with Centtrip and I share their ‘currency freed’ vision for regular travellers”

Earlier this month, Centtrip also announced that it had secured an exclusive bat sponsorship deal with England cricketer Ben Stokes.  He has agreed to have the company’s logo on the back of his bat for the duration of the Ashes series.

In January, Centtrip launched its first product, which is a prepaid MasterCard offering 14 currencies on a single card at ‘spread free’ exchange rates, meaning that customers receive the true market rate on their travel currency.  Centtrip customers can use Sterling or Euros to load their account via their debit cards or by making a bank transfer.  Thereafter, they can convert across the 14 currencies free of any spread unlike other bank debit cards or credit cards.

Customers can manage their accounts via a smartphone app or online through a multi-currency travel account.  The card allows customers to carry significantly higher balances than other prepaid currency cards.

Customers pay one fixed annual fee of £10 and 0.5% of the value of funds loaded to their account.  Thereafter they can buy foreign currency from Centtrip at authentic 0% rates from the live market, as much as they need and as often as they want.

In addition to spread free exchange rates, no charge for point-of-sale transactions in the UK or abroad and competitive international ATM fees, Centtrip’s card also offers the heritage and confidence of the MasterCard brand.  This means it’s accepted at over 34 million locations and 2.1 million ATMs worldwide.
