CAMRADATA ANNOUNCES GLOBAL EQUITY TOPS THE ASSET CLASS SEARCHES FOR INVESTORS IN JUNE 2017

The latest monthly snapshot of the top investment searches carried out within the CAMRADATA Live database has just been released by CAMRADATA, a leading provider of data and analysis for institutional investors.

Global Equity was the most searched for asset class by investors in June 2017, followed by US Equity and Emerging Markets Equity. This mirrors the company’s Q1 2017 investment report which highlighted that global equity markets had a strong start to the year, extending last year’s buoyant performance.

Other positive movers this month were European Inc. UK Equity, up one place from May to 5th place in June, and Alternatives up from 9th position in May to 7th in June.

The top searched for asset managers in June were BlackRock in the £50+ Billion AuM, Capital Hermes Investment Management in the £20-£50 Billion AuM, Unigestion SA in the £5-£20 Billion AuM and RAM Active Investment in the £0-£5 Billion AuM bucket.

Over 19,300searches were carried out in CAMRADATA Live over the 12 months to 30th June 2017. CAMRADATA also undertook 13 bespoke assisted searches on behalf of several investors in June and assisted searches are a growing part of the business.

The asset classes the investors researched included, Global Equity Small Cap; Convertibles; Multi Asset Credit Emerging Market Debt; Japanese Equity; Multi Asset Alternatives; Real Estate; Private Equity highlighting the range of asset classes available to investors in CAMRADATA Live.

Sean Thompson, Managing Director, CAMRADATA said, “Global equity has returned to top position in June after dipping back to 2nd place in May. With US Equity and Emerging Markets Equity in 2nd and 3rd position, this month’s data highlights the continued popularity of these asset classes. Interestingly, Alternatives are moving up in the searches, jumping two places, suggesting they are becoming more mainstream as investors look for ways to diversify their portfolios.

“This month we also saw an increase in assisted searches, which indicates more investors are using CAMRADATA Live for bespoke searches when they are looking to appoint managers for potential mandates or buy lists.”
