Legal firm’s new team secures high profile additions including United Utilities and Daresbury Science Park.
Insurance and risk law firm BLM has announced a raft of additions to the client portfolio of its Commercial Advisory group. Having joined the business last autumn in just a few short months, the team has secured 22 new clients, including new instructions from these household names: United Utilities and Daresbury Science Park, amongst others.
The 30-strong practice group joined BLM as part of the firm’s ongoing diversification strategy and delivers services including commercial litigation, commercial contracts, corporate law, employment law and corporate property for a wide range of clients including Urban Splash, schuh, Radisson SAS Hotels and Bank of England.
They will now be joined by additional great client brands such as Russell Hobbs, Black & Decker; social care provider Care UK; and publicly-listed Trade Interchange, amongst existing cross-sector clients ranging from small businesses to large corporates. BLM also recently added a private wealth service to the group’s offering following the appointment of James Beresford as partner, a specialist in Wills, estate planning and asset protection.
Commenting on the new client wins, head of Commercial Advisory and Private Wealth, Siri Siriwardene said: “Transferring a team from one firm to another will always be a challenging task, but we have really hit the ground running at BLM through the introduction of new clients and new team members. To have added so many new clients in such a short space of time is testament to the strength and expertise of the Commercial Advisory group. The calibre of names is truly exceptional; from ambitious fast-growing businesses through to household brands. We’re looking forward to celebrating our first 12 months and reflecting on our achievements later this year.”
BLM’s Commercial Advisory and Private Wealth business stream provides support to a range of national and international clients based primarily out of the firm’s Manchester and London offices, in key sectors including construction and property, healthcare, retail and leisure, TMT and public sector.
