Complex commercial litigator, Daniel J. Buzzetta, has joined BakerHostetler in the New York office as a partner in the Litigation Group. He comes to the firm from Greenberg Traurig.
Buzzetta has earned a reputation for insightful analysis and skilled advocacy. He partners with his clients to not only manage their most important litigation, but also to counsel them on litigation avoidance, risk management, and litigation resolution. His practice will focus on complex commercial litigation, including business contract disputes, business torts, securities, antitrust, RICO matters, and internal corporate investigations for public and private companies.
Buzzetta’s trial and arbitration experience in state and federal courts spans decades, and includes a multimillion- dollar settlement in a breach of contract dispute before the International Center for Dispute Resolution. He has also successfully defended a class action antitrust complaint against the third-largest waste disposal company in North America, and during his career has represented federal banking regulators in matters related to fraudulent banking practices and professional liability.
“Dan is an outstanding addition to our nationally recognized Litigation Group. He is well respected for his ability to lead and litigate cases in complex business matters, which will be of great benefit to our clients,” said George Stamboulidis, Managing Partner of the New York office.
“I am pleased Dan chose to join BakerHostetler’s team of more than 350 trial lawyers located across the country. Dan brings a wealth of experience in successfully resolving business, securities, and antitrust disputes through settlement, trial, or arbitration,” said W. Ray Whitman, Chair of BakerHostetler’s national Litigation Group. “He is well known as a trusted advisor to clients who are experiencing bet-the-company business disputes.”
“I chose BakerHostetler because of the high-caliber reputation of its national litigation practice and its interdisciplinary approach to handling issues that arise in cases. The firm’s national footprint is a perfect fit for my clients. I know they will be able to take advantage of BakerHostetler’s full range of resources and services,” said Buzzetta.
Buzzetta earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1994, and his B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from Tufts University in 1991. He is a member of The Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
