    On 31 May – 1 June 2018 the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) together with Narodowy Bank Polski (NBP) supported by the Canada-IMF Technical Assistance Project NBU Institutional Capacity Building and the Kyiv School of Economics will gather for the third time representatives from foreign central banks, international financial institutions, leading researchers from world renown universities, and experts for the Annual Research Conference.

    This year’s Conference will focus on Interaction of Fiscal and Monetary Policies. The participants will have the opportunity to discuss theoretical, empirical, and practical aspects of interaction of fiscal and monetary policies in different economies, trade openness, and monetary regimes.

    The main speech will be given by Alan Auerbach, Director of the Robert D. Burch Center for Tax Policy and Public Finance in University of California, Berkeley and research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

    Furthermore, the following participants will speak at the Conference: Koba Gvenetadze from the National Bank of Georgia, Paweł Samecki and Jerzy Osiatyński from the NBP, Jonathan Ostry from the International Monetary Fund, Jesper Lindé and Cecilia Skingsley from Sveriges Riksbank, Bill Dupor from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Lars Svensson from Stockholm School of Economics, Kristin Forbes from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and other acknowledged researches and practitioners.

    Being one of the highlights for the Ukrainian academic community in economics, in the previous year, the Annual Research Conference held by the NBU and the NBP gathered representatives from over 18 countries, more than 400 participants were from central banks and international financial institution, Ukrainian and global research and expert communities.

    The working language of the conference is English (simultaneous interpreting into Ukrainian will be provided).

    The Conference will be streamed live (Ukrainian translation of the broadcast will be available on the site of the event and the NBU YouTube channel).
