June Event Pulls Together Six Conferences into One Event with More than 300 Sessions
AICPA ENGAGE, an event that combines six public accounting, tax, personal finance and marketing conferences under a single roof, offers one of the most unique opportunities for career advancement, networking and practice development in the accounting and finance professions.
The full agenda for the event, which will be held in collaboration with the Association for Accounting Marketing from June 11-15, 2017, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, is available at aicpaengage.com.
“We have more than 275 speakers scheduled for AICPA ENGAGE, and it’s unprecedented to have the breadth and quality of keynotes, breakout sessions and workshops in a single location like this,” said Clar Rosso, the American Institute of CPA’s vice president of member learning and competency. “This is an immersive event where every member of a practice, from entry-level staff to owners and partners, can gather insights, fresh perspectives and new ways of better serving his or her clients.”
Besides professional learning and networking opportunities, AICPA ENGAGE will offer several innovative programming features, including:
- An expanded exhibit hall, with over 150 relevant companies, CPE-eligible learning labs, interactive product demos and an “expert access” zone where participants can mingle with speakers after their sessions for more in-depth discussions
- A “professional impact” track staffed by AICPA experts on such topics as peer review, the CPA Exam, regulatory and legislative updates from our D.C. tax team, and competency-based renewal requirements for AICPA credentials, among other issues
- Increased interaction for online conference attendees, including morning wake-up conversations for remote participants and online moderation of select sessions
- More than a dozen pre-conference, specialty workshops, including the Private Foundation Summit and a session on cybersecurity risk management program essentials
“The combination of technical training and access to soft skills such as marketing and business development offers attendees the chance to learn new ways to grow their practices,” said Lauren Clemmer, the Association for Accounting Marketing’s executive director.
The conferences included in AICPA ENGAGE are: the AICPA’s Advanced Estate Planning Conference, Advanced Personal Financial Planning Conference, Conference on Tax Strategies for High-Income Individuals, National Advanced Accounting and Auditing Technical Symposium and the Practitioners Symposium/TECH+ Conference, as well as the Association for Accounting Marketing Summit. Each individual conference will retain its core offerings and identity, but the co-located setting will permit more opportunities for collaboration and cross-pollination.
Previously announced keynote speakers include “Shark Tank” panelist and entrepreneur Kevin O’Leary, Google executive Abigail Posner and Millennial researcher Jason Dorsey, as well as AICPA President and CEO Barry C. Melancon and AICPA Chairman Kimberly Ellison-Taylor. In addition, “power pose” researcher Amy Cuddy, one of the most popular TED Talk participants, will kick off AICPA ENGAGE on June 11.
