(Reuters) - Ticketing firm Trainline on Wednesday welcomed the UK government's plan to maintain a competitive and "level-playing field" when it centralises online ticket-buying under Great British Railways.
This comes ahead of an industry-wide consultation on the Rail Reform Bill, which aims to establish Great British Railways as the governing body for passenger rail — a process expected to take several years.
The move aims to support a fair market, drive innovation and boost rail travel demand in the UK.
Trainline has 18 million customers in the UK.
